‘Do I stay in my home or do I move to a senior living community?’ If you’re 55 or older, that’s a question you may be asking yourself. A new radio show coming to the Twin Cities August on 4th will talk about the many issues facing seniors in transition and help educate their families and caregivers about the many options available today. The show will be hosted by Cathy Matrejek, Accredited Relocation Transition Specialist and founder of Changing Lifestyle Solutions. Cathy saw the great need for information in this area after helping her mother-in-law go through the entire process in 2007.
The “Do I Stay or Do I Go” radio program will feature content by experts in many areas of concern and cover an endless variety of topics that families of seniors are facing, including:
- Types of senior living communities
- Physical changes to your home to make staying an option
- 10 steps to a successful move
- When and how to purchase Long Term Care Insurance
- How does a Reverse Mortgage work
- How to spot senior eating disorders
- Hearing loss and its’ possible connection to dementia
- And much, much more.
The radio program will air on two Salem Communication Radio Stations covering the Twin Cities metro area - Saturdays at 5pm on AM 1280 The Patriot and Sundays at 11am on AM 980 KKMS. The show will be available live online at www.am1280thepatriot.com and www.kkms.com as well as on station supported smart phone apps. All shows will be archived on the station websites for podcasting.
About Cathy Matrejek
Cathy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, an MBA from The University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and is an Accredited Relocation Transition Specialist. Her career has taken her to France, Spain, Mexico and throughout the US. She has served in Management and Director positions for Kenner Toys, General Mills, Donaldson Companies, VISA and Izod. Cathy has taught Operations Management at Metro State and now teaches her ‘Do I Stay or Do I Go’ course at community centers, groups, churches and area events.
