(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Target Center is likely to get a 97-million dollar overhaul, starting in 2014. The Minneapolis City Council needs to approve the plan, which is expected by mid-November. The city will pay half of the costs, while the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves and WNBA's Minnesota Lynx will chip in 44-percent, and the rest will be funded by concert promoter AEG. The basketball teams will stay in the arena for another 20 years as part of the deal and seating will be expanded for concerts and other non-athletic events.
