(La Crosse, WI) -- The woman found dead in a car in the Mississippi River near downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin has been identified as 21-year-old Ellen Ahmann of Woodbury. She was preparing to graduate from Winona State University in the spring with a finance degree. Ahmann's car went down an embankment and crashed through the ice after she drove about 150 feet on the river on New Year's Eve. Divers recovered her body and her vehicle the next afternoon, under six to eight feet of water.
