SpartanNash To Be Headquartered In Michigan, Not Minnesota

(Grand Rapids, MI) -- This week's merger of Edina-based Nash Finch and Michigan's Spartan Stores is going to result in the loss of the Nash Finch headquarters in Minnesota. The new company, known as SpartanNash, has won nearly three-million dollars in state and local tax breaks in West Michigan to have the headquarters where Spartan Stores have been based. Over 98-percent of Nash Finch shareholders approved the merger on Monday, but the majority rejected a nonbinding proposal on payouts to the company's top executives.
