After Micah accidentally called 911 and had a lovely chat with the phone personnel about his love for soccer and swimming, they sent off Officer Michael El-Hage to make sure everything was okay.
He found that Micah and his household were all right, and discovered that Micah’s birthday was on the following Sunday.
“So our day shift team came together to make his special day even more memorable," the Farmington Hills, Michigan, police department said.
“My plan was to maybe get them something for soccer,” Michael said at first.
But the officer decided to do a lot more than that.
"While accidental 911 calls do happen, we always want kids to feel safe and comfortable reaching out to us," the police department said. "Turning a small mistake into a moment of connection is what community policing is all about. Great job day shift."

He showed up later with a whole crew of officers, a new soccer net, an honorary officer badge, a plastic police hat, and the chance to play soccer together. Micah and his brother, Mitch, also got to look inside their patrol cars.
The police department shared photos of the brothers smiling big with nine police officers and Micah’s new gifts.
“I just did it for the kids, honestly,” the officer said. ”I just see my son there, so being a dad I think every day I can understand that that’s what it’s about for me.”
What a great way to turn a 911 call into a special occasion!
“I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live;” - Ecclesiastes 3:12
