Hostages Protecting The Hostages Protecting Hamas

Yesterday’s JPost featured a recording of a resident of Gaza City telling Israeli officials that Hamas is working very hard to prevent them from leaving, which the IDF is encouraging prior to invading.  Everybody knows this, but here, now, is incontrovertible evidence.  What few Israeli hostages are left are more than likely in Gaza City – the IDF can’t rescue them for fear of countless civilian deaths in urban operations.  So Hamas is actively holding the populace hostage to protect the hostages they took.  And remember – Hamas is ostensibly the government of Gaza.

This leaves Netanyahu, and the U.S. by extension, with a Truman, nuke-use-like decision.  Only it is worse.  The Japanese population was ready and willing to go to war to fight for its emperor.  The citizens of Gaza City, not so much.  Do you kill enemy hostages to rescue your own being held hostage?  Alternately, was the call a propaganda stunt, staged by Hamas just to make it look like innocents would be killed?  The IDF does not think it is a stunt:

According to the defense source, Hamas wants to keep as many civilians as possible in Gaza City, both to serve directly as human shields from IDF attacks and also to place more diplomatic pressure on Israel to end the war in the event that Palestinian civilians are caught up in the crossfire.

In the senior defense official’s view, Hamas views the deaths of its own population as a strategic asset to play against Israel’s reputation globally.

Hamas tactics to prevent Palestinians from leaving Gaza City have varied from scaring them – by (falsely) claiming that conditions in southern Gaza are worse in terms of insufficient tents, food, and medical care – to physically shooting or beating those who do try to flee.

Heck of a decision Netanyahu has to make, is it not?

The second paragraph in that pull quote should make one thing abundantly clear – Hamas is pure evil.  Using your own people as “strategic assets” is something no one with a shred of decency or with any good in them could do.  Hamas must be killed – evil on this level cannot be allowed to exist.

This information, direct from the source, makes it very plain to anyone that is not antisemitic that any civilians that do die in the coming conflict were killed by Hamas, even if the bullet or bomb came from an Israeli weapon.  Further, history has given us antisemitism in the extreme – we know what it looks like and it produced the largest systemic, organized evil ever.  It cannot be tolerated anymore than an evil like Hamas can.

It is very clear what must happen here.  Further Israel’s allies, of which the U.S. is #1, must stand hard next to Israel to aid it in the onslaught of antisemitic garbage that will flow as a result of finally and completely ridding the world of the evil that is Hamas.  With this evidence we are past debate and discussion.  With this evidence those that oppose Israel’s actions must be named and condemned for just who and what they are.

Do we mourn the innocents lost and to be lost in Gaza?  Absolutely, for we are decent.  But there is no guilt, there is only mourning.  The guilt belongs to the evil.
