Left-wing school board and city council members in Pittsburgh are putting pressure on organizers of the Pittsburgh Marathon to drop Chick-fil-A as a sponsor.

The Pittsburg Post-Gazette reports a resolution going before the public school board is specifically looking to prevent school employees from participating in a children’s one-mile race the day before the main event unless the fast food chain pulls out.

All nine council members signed the plan to nix the sponsor deal, claiming that Chick-fil-A holds religious beliefs that are "quite discriminatory” and “quite inconsistent with the district's policies.”

Chick-fil-A has said it is focused on service and hospitality and does not have a political or social agenda.
