There are endless possibilities for dating ideas. Sometimes you have to be a little creative and innovative. The next time you go on a date, keep these ideas in mind or plan something specific according to your own interests. Your significant other will love it no matter what.
When your spouse is in the thick of grief, you may feel helpless—but prayer is your greatest ministry. These 8 prayers will help you comfort them with God’s truth.
We are the church, so true believers always get married “in” the church no matter the location of the ceremony (assuming a Christian couple would not choose a questionable site). Weddings performed in a church setting, however, have a special nature about them because it’s where the church gathers every week to worship the Lord.
Time, familiarity, baggage and life’s transitions can all wear on a marriage and make you feel like you’ve lost that loving feeling. But, it’s not too late to fall back in love with your spouse no matter how little or how long you’ve been married.
But, while the world would want to convince us (and our men) that we don’t need them and that we can run on “girl power” alone, God made each of us for so much more!
Sometimes couples end in arguments without really talking about the situation. Set a designated time and a private area where you can hash things out. Talk about everything, how you feel about each other, the current state of your marriage, etc. Leave nothing out. Agree not to get angry or emotional but simply allow the other to speak. Make it a safe space where each can speak their mind without fear of character assassinations or blame.
Disagreements, irritation, and even anger at our spouse don’t have to be relationship killers. When we are open to God’s leading in our hearts through our marriage relationship, He can (and will) use those times of conflict to help us grow and become more like Him.
Besides remembering what love is and how the Lord wants us to love our spouses, we also remember that they are human like we are. We all have off days and habits that we have difficulty breaking. We all forget things from time to time. Even though we don’t always like what our spouses do, we must always love them. We do things and get on their nerves as well. This is part of being married and living with another human being.
What does Proverbs 18:22 mean when it says, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing”? This article reflects on the blessing of a godly wife, celebrating her strength, support, peace, wisdom, and partnership while reminding readers that a wife is a precious gift from the Lord to be honored, cherished, and never taken for granted.
The “God hates divorce” statement is extremely harmful when Christians use it as a weapon to keep abused women (and men) in toxic marriages. Their intentions might be to save marriages, but the words only damage already hurting people.
I’m sure you’ve heard that your husband needs your respect just as much as you need his love. You can convey your respect to him through your gift of words, carefully chosen and lovingly spoken.
Your husband wants a lover, not a mother. And when you talk to him like you talk to your children or even use the same phrases with him that you use with them, an internal annoyance meter goes off that communicates to him: She’s treating me like a child.
Put an under- and over- communicator together, and you have one spouse dying for some silence and the other one trying to squeeze a few more words out of the non-talker. We have learned to see the humor in this but also extend grace toward the other when the talker wants to have a conversation, and the thinker wants time to think it through.
